4th edition of the Delta Birding Festival

On 22nd, 23rd and 24th September, the Delta Birding Festival (www.deltabirdingfestival.com) celebrates its fourth edition. This year comes more packed with talks, tours, workshops and contests than ever. In addition, the very same Friday starts with some main guests, so if you are interested to come to the festival, we recommend to take Friday 22 as a day off at work.

We are going to have speakers like Arjan Dwarshuis, Jennifer Ackerman, Nigel Collar, Tim Appleton, Stephen Moss, Vilppu Valimaki, Klaus Malling Olsen, Gorka Gorospe, Joan Carles Senar, Eloïsa Matheu, José Luis Copete, Constantí Stefanescu, Oriol Alamany, Helena Tauler, Ricard Gutiérrez, Ferran López, Toni Llobet, Martí Franch, Sergi Herrando and others in a programme that you can't finish at all.

Like every year you will be able to test all brands of optics in a real environment in front of the lagoon of La Tancada. SWAROVSKI, LEICA, ZEISS, BUSHNELL and all other brands will be there, plus quite a good representation of photo companies. Books, nest boxes, birding trips, photography and associations will fill up the offer of products for the birder.

But if what you are interested in is birding, then this is the place to be in those dates. You can join guided tours to the hidden lagoons of the Delta, go on your own or join a boat trip to watch seabirds. The Ebro Delta is a stopover point in the migration of many birds and in past editions of the festival we've had Citrine Wagtails, Buff-breasted Sandpipers, Pacific Golden Plovers, Pallid Harriers, Pectoral Sandpipers and Spotted Sandpipers plus regular and extremely common birds such as Flamingos, Glossy Ibises, Purple Swamphens, Squacco Herons and Sardinian Warblers.

Ornitho users can participate in a contest where you can win a pair of SWAROVSKI EL 10x42 binoculars (retail price 2.200€!) if you enter checklists from Catalonia up to Saturday 23rd September.
